Who’s excited for the 17 hour non-stop flight to London? Have you booked your flight already?
The inaugural flight departs Perth, heading to Heathrow airport on Saturday 24th March, 2018, and then returning to Perth on the 25th March, 2018. This new, non-stop dreamliner service is the fastest way to get between Australia to Europe.
An article from The New Daily includes comments from Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, who says, the aircraft has been modified to make long-haul flying more comfortable.
“The Dreamliner is an aircraft built for comfort,” he says. “The windows are bigger, it’s extremely quiet and there’s a system that sooths out turbulence. Customers are going to love it”
That's great news, but in the meantime, all of us here in Perth, Western Australia are just hanging out for an increase in tourists!
WA Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said: “The State Government, through Tourism WA, has entered into a $5.7 million marketing agreement with Qantas to promote the city as a stopover for Australians and international passengers, as well as encourage travel into regional WA.”
These non-stop flights to London are just a win, win we think! They’re helping Australian’s, and in particular Western Australian residents to have a direct connection with the UK when travelling, but also it’s bringing tourism to a state that has so much unknown natural beauty to offer the world.
Cottesloe Airbnb host, David Sharp wrote on Facebook this week; “The new Perth Hub is definitely working to drive new bookings with direct flights from the UK. Have already fully booked April in advance!”
How awesome is that? Booked out already! Just fabulous news!
To celebrate the launch of the flights, Tourism WA gave commuters from Oxford to London a virtual glimpse of meeting the quokka’s at Rottnest Island & snorkelling through the stunning Ningaloo Reef through state of the art headsets. Quite a different climate for them, compared to the cold spell that have been experiencing over the past five years.
