The Fremantle Festival is back for another year! In fact it’s been around for many years as it is Australia’s longest running festival (it has been running for 110 years!!). The Festival holds a central place in the culture of Fremantle.
Begin your journey at the Fremantle Town Hall where you can pick up a program, learn about how to purchase tickets and then go from there! There is even a bar, the Pegleg Bar, at the town hall where you can fill up on refreshments and enjoy the atmosphere. The best part is that entry is FREE!
If you enjoy art there is temporary art on display in Kings Square. There are also ticketed and free events occurring at the Town Hall every day during the festival. These tickets are on sale now at www.fremantlefestival.oztix.com.au. The acts include singer Katie Noonan, comedians Sami Shah and Rhys Nicholson, a street parade and the festival closing party.
The One Planet Fest-a-Con is also occurring over these dates. This is a celebration of Fremantle’s sustainable community and achievements. The events of this festival include informative events leading sustainability innovators. There is an Eco Bus Tour, an environmental film festival, free children’s activities and much more!
There is so much more in terms of cultural events, theatre, art, sport and music. For more information of the events occurring during the Fremantle Festival and a map, click here for the program. We promise that you will find something to suit you and have a fantastic time!
