The school holidays start at the end of this week! The school holiday dates are 26 September- 11 October 2015 for Western Australia. There is so much happening in and around Perth during this time. Apart from the usual attractions in Perth like the Fremantle Prison, Cottesloe Beach, Hilary’s Boat Harbour and so on, there are a lot of events on.
For example, the Fremantle Markets have extended its trading times the October school holidays! If you can't make it on the usual Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you can come and do on Thursdays too (please look below for the hours).
The Fremantle Arts Centre Kids is running holiday courses from 29th September - 9th October.
Book the kids in for something creative this school holidays with Fremantle Arts Centre’s huge range of Kids’ Holiday Courses. With classes in animation, mosaics, papier mache, creative clay, batik painting, loom weaving and more, there’s something for everyone. Spread over two weeks with short courses happening each weekday, kids are able be taught in small groups under the guidance of professional artists and tutors. Courses are divided up into younger kids (5-8yrs), older kids (9-12yrs) and teens (13-18yrs). Cost: $32 - $102.
The IGA Perth Royal Show is happening at the Claremont Showgrounds 26 September-03 October 2015. The show is always guaranteed to make for a fun day out. There is so much to do and see it’s always worth planning your day.
Get the kids a surfing lesson! The weather is warming up and surfing is a great way to keep active and healthy. There are plenty of surf schools around Perth, such as Big Wave Surf School. Once you have a basic understanding of how to surf, there are plenty of beaches to practice. Cottesloe Beach and City Beach are fantastic beaches to become great surfers.
Scitech is running its own school holiday programs. Some of the courses that will be run include Chameleon Chemistry, Terrarium Ecosystem, Noisy Science and Young Engineers LEGO Challenge. These courses run from 29 September to 7 October.
Of course there are lots of other events on and local attractions that will be fantastic to visit during the holidays. This list includes Perth Zoo, WA Museum, AQWA, Bounce inc and Ice Skating. With so much happening this school holiday, the days will fly by!
