Where to see Prince Charles in Perth- In case you hadn’t heard, Prince Charles and Camilla will be in Perth this weekend! On Saturday, the royal couple are flying down to Albany in the morning and are heading to the Albany Agricultural Show. They will be amongst the locals, meeting farmers and members of the community and are scheduled to watch shows like a log chopping demonstration. The couple will then headed to Mount Adelaide to visit the National Anzac Centre, and view the point from which the Australian and New Zealand troop convoys departed Australia for the Great War.
The Prince and the Duchess will return to Perth later that day for a barbecue hosted by Premier Colin Barnett in the gardens of the Cottesloe Civic Centre to celebrate the Prince's 67th birthday. This event is expected to be closed to the general public but more than 500 guests including nurses, paramedics, police and fire fighters have been invited. Even the Prince loves Cottesloe!
On Sunday, the Prince will formally open the State Buildings, the previous government buildings on St Georges Terrace which have been restored to include a lively retail, dining and hotel complex. The Duchess will visit the State Library of Western Australia where she will meet linguistically diverse parents/carers and their young children. Her Royal Highness will also meet those involved in the Storylines program which is aimed at preserving culture and community links for Indigenous Australians.
There is also a visit Kings Park planned for the Prince, where he will learn more about its scientific research projects. The public is invited to farewell Their Royal Highnesses in Kings Park near the Flame of Remembrance from about 1pm.
Please note there will be parking restrictions and road closures on the Sunday. Fraser Avenue will be closed and there will be some restrictions to pedestrian access.
Turning on the Christmas Lights in the City- Christmas is just around the corner and the City of Perth is once again putting on a tremendously dazzling Christmas light display. Head into the city on Friday 13th November, 2015, from 6.30pm till 8.15pm, and join in the festivities with the annual Turning on of the Christmas Lights. The event is taking place at Forrest Place and is FREE. The Lord Mayor of Perth, Lisa Scaffidi, will be joined by Santa and his North Pole pals, as they turn on more than one hundred thousand Christmas lights and decorations around the city. Definitely a night to remember!
Beaufort Street Festival- Join The Biggest Street Party in Perth for FREE! Beaufort Street Festival is one of Perth's most popular one day events with free entertainment, delicious food to try and live music playing at almost every corner down the long, long street. The Beaufort Street Festival in 2015 has been set on Saturday the 14th of November 2015 from 12pm to 9pm.
Fremantle Craft Beer Festival- The scene is set for Australia's biggest craft beer festival with over 300 West Australian Craft Beers with 40 breweries on show! There will also be 20 Gourmet food stalls, live Music all day and night, a live Comedy Stage, master classes and a homebrew competition. The festival will be located on Esplanade Park and prices range from $27-$270.
